GOLDEN ROBOT RECORDS SIGNS NEW TRENDS, UTI AND GROOM EPOCH AHEAD OF FURTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS

5 min read

Golden Robot Records have announced the signing of the three latest artists to join their ever-expanding roster, which also includes Rose Tattoo, The Superjesus, Palace of the King, Mi-Sex, Toe to Toe, Dizzy Reed, Kilbey Kennedy and indie rock acts such as The Cherry Dolls, The Lockhearts, High Tropics, The Kids, and Nick Barker’s The Heartache State.

Groom Epoch is a newly formed band by ex drummer of The Church, Richard Ploog, and includes ex members of The Go Betweens and Died Pretty. So far remaining under the radar, they’ve been performing select shows, but are now ready to take their music to the world, with their debut album scheduled for release in early 2018, and the first single set to drop in mid November. An all star cast of musical iconoclasts, Groom Epoch combines talents to create a super stellar sound.

Sydney’s New Trends emerged in 2015 and began igniting the Australian punk rock scene off the back of their impressive debut album, Gimme Everything.  Influenced by the many known and unknown bands around the globe, which is reflected in their unique sound, they have gained immediate respect and already shared the stage with some of the world’s finest, including Iggy Pop, Television, Bad Religion, and many more.

UTI, also known as Under the Influence, was formed nearly two decades ago in Dapto, with three highschool friends joining forces with a passion for punk music and surfing.  After several line-up changes, their sound has progressed over the years, starting from street punk influences through to heavy punk hardcore.  A high energy combination dedicated to their music, UTI is raw and intense, and holds nothing back.

As a worldwide label signing bands in not only Australia, but in the US as well, we constantly look for diversity and bands that can stand up against the best in the world on stage and track by track. New Trends have certainly filled those shoes already with a ripper debut album and a lot of international attention from some of the great hardcore bands in the USA and Europe, and we’re excited to be involved with their next international release,” says Mark Alexander-Erber (Founder and President of Golden Robot Global Entertainment). “The same can be said with Groom Epoch, a band containing members of some of the best Australian indie bands of all time – it doesn’t get any better than that when you’re looking for bands who want to take their music to the world.”

On the verge of announcing more exciting additions to the global independent label, including some international names, Golden Robot Records continues to go from strength to strength, with their artists now being released physically not only in Australia, but also Europe, the UK and USA, with the first lot of CDs and vinyl set to hit shelves o/s in late November from Rose Tattoo, Kilbey Kennedy, Toe to Toe and The Cherry Dolls, giving them a solid foundation across the world.
