Bluesfest Touring is proud to announce a once in a lifetime event. Such is the demand and adoration for Patti Smith in Australia that six dates across two capital cities have all but sold out. The final ever Australian performance for Patti Smith and Her Band will be held at Festival Hall Melbourne on Thursday April 20th, featuring Patti’s repertoire of originals and selected covers from across eleven studio albums and forty-three years of defining rock music.
The acclaimed artist, writer, activist and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee will be joined by long-time Band mates Lenny Kaye and Jay Dee Daugherty; with Tony Shanahan on piano/bass and Andy York on guitar.
The very special guest artist is local alt-rocker Courtney Barnett; with this being her only scheduled Australian show for 2017. Courtney has been influenced and inspired by Patti.
These concerts in Sydney and Melbourne, along with her two performances at Bluesfest will be the last time to watch Patti Smith and Her Band perform in Australia.
It’s time now for a special celebration.
A dedication to fans and an honouring of Patti’s lifetime of work.
