THE LOCKHEARTS Announce Tour Dates Kicking Off in Sydney Late July

3 min read

Sydney rockers, The Lockhearts, have announced a run of East Coast tour dates in support of their upcoming single release, Ride Home, out 24 July; the first track lifted from the bands much-anticipated debut album, Americana Doom Fuzz, slated to drop later this year via Golden Robot Records.

Between recording drums in the stairwell, blowing up vintage amplifiers and selective live tracking to capture the band’s onstage energy, Americana Doom Fuzz harks back to a golden fertile era when studio exploration and experimentation was young. It embodies The Lockhearts “keep it loose, keep it tight” approach to moody, guitar-driven songwriting.

With the first single, Ride Home, due for release in late July, fans will be given a taste of what’s to come from an album that’s like a sardonic book on the hurdles of navigating all-consuming depression within young adult relationships, frequent existential crisis’ and death, whilst attempting to reconcile life in a guitar band.

Kicking off the tour on July 29 at The Factory Theatre in Sydney, the band will then continue on to the Gold Coast, Adelaide, Geelong, and Melbourne during August, with Newcastle and Brisbane following in early September and further shows to be announced.

Formed in condemned venues and closed down coffee houses out of stardust and silicone, The Lockhearts are the achetypal band of brothers, looking for solace in opium den blues and hard rock swagger, whilst wrestling to comprehend 4th dimensional spacetime and cetacean altruism via onstage destruction and cathartic cult melodies. The Lockhearts are fronted by Tim Meaco on vocals and guitar, Sam Sheumack on guitar, Jameel Majam on bass and Steve ‘Woodie’ Woodward on drums.
