PSEUDO ECHO discover a ‘Missing Link’ in the history of the band with release of a lost album from 1990!

6 min read

Pseudo Echo take you back in time with the highly anticipated release of their ninth studio album “1990 The Lost Album Demos”, out on June 10 – pre save now. The band will embark on a national tour in July – a two hour show featuring synchronized visuals, playing all the hits and more.

Recently causing a frenzy on social media, Pseudo Echo have been posting a series of stories about a “lost album” from 1990, and how (after thirty years) the original “master demo tape” has now been rediscovered.

After the band unexpectedly disbanded in 1989, front man and founding member Brian Canham, was left pondering what to do with the songs he had just demoed for what was to be Pseudo Echo’s fourth album. There suddenly seemed to be a lot of interest in Canham and his songs, and the possibility of a solo album. To waste no time, Canham submitted his one and only “master tape” of his demo recordings. During the duplication process the original master tape somehow went missing, and had been lost for the past thirty years.

These exclusive recordings (meant for in-house ears only, record company executives and producers), were recorded as a general guide of the songs, and the type of production Brian Canham intended for the band’s fourth album, which was to be the successor to the “Race” album.

This body of work is an extraordinarily unique time capsule, preserved in its original format, filling an important missing link in the history of Pseudo Echo. Brian Canham felt it equally important to make this album available to the people … the fans … announcing that “1990 The Lost Album Demos” will be officially released on June 10th.

Pseudo Echo are one Australia’s leading recording and touring acts, having pioneered the eighties with their stylized look and electro sound, establishing themselves as one of the most iconic and influential, multi award-winning bands in the country. At their peak they were awarded “Australia’s Most Popular Band”, as well as Brian Canham taking the crown for “Australia’s Most Popular Male Performer”.

Famous for their world-wide No.1 smash hit “Funky Town”, the band has also released a string of Gold & Platinum albums, featuring unforgettable Top 10 electro-pop hits including “ Listening”, “A Beat for You”, “Don’t Go”, “Love An Adventure” and “Living in a Dream”.
