Mondo Rock return to the live scene with a rare run of Theatre shows on the 2019 Hits! Baby! Hits! Tour.
The band will tour through August, kicking off on August 2 at Anita’s in Thirroul before heading to Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on August 3, Palms at Crown Melbourne on August 9 and 10, The Governor Hindmarsh, Adelaide on August 16 and 17, before winding up in Queensland at The Tivoli, Brisbane on August 23 and The Star, Gold Coast on August 24.
Special guests across the shows include Boom Crash Opera, Taxiride and Dragon.
In a career spanning five decades, few come close to delivering the catalogue of Australian classics that Mondo Rock boast. From ‘Come Said The Boy’, ‘Cool World’, ‘State Of The Heart’, to ‘Chemistry’, ‘No Time’, ‘The Queen & Me’, ‘Summer For 81’ and more, Mondo Rock have delivered some of the most recognisable Australian Classic Hits of all time.

Mondo Rock – Ross Wilson, Eric McCusker, James Black, Paul Christie and Gil Matthews – were one of the biggest Australian bands of the ’80s and remain Australia’s leading purveyors of sophisticated pop. They made “state of the art rock that can be played on a variety of formats”, according to US music bible Billboard, while Rolling Stone stated that Mondo Rock made “adult” music that wasn’t soft or easy-listening. “That was my original intention,” Ross Wilson said. “That Mondo Rock should be a band to play music for big kids.”
