BACHELOR GIRL Confirmed to Perform at A Day On The Green Concerts November / December 2018

4 min read

Hot on the heels of their recent Australian promotional tour, Bachelor Girl is confirmed to perform as one of the special music guests on A Day On The Green. The line-up features musical legends John Farnham, Daryl Braithwaite and Russell Morris, as well as Richard Marx.

The tour plays Leconfield Wines, McLaren Vale SA on Saturday November 24, Bimbadgen, Hunter Valley NSW on Saturday December 1, Sirromet Wines, Mt Cotton QLD on Sunday December 2 and at Rochford Wines, Yarra Valley VIC on Saturday December 8.

Tickets go on sale 10.00am on Friday July 13 from Ticketmaster.

Tania Doko says today “What could be better than performing to thousands at a winery?! I’ve been secretly dreaming about doing a Day on The Green tour ever since its inception, pining from my home in Sweden about one day playing Aussie classy gigs against the backdrop of beautiful vineyard settings. Being on the bill with our ol’ ‘boss’ Farnham, friends Daryl and Russell and meeting Richard Marx who I used to try mimic as a kid on piano and vocals.. my inner child is next level excited about BG playing our loved tunes as well as showcasing our new material.”

Bachelor Girl’s current single ‘Speak’ is a heartfelt and socially conscious song. It was released last month on the twentieth anniversary of their Double Platinum iconic hit ‘Buses and Trains’ and their ARIA award winning debut album ‘Waiting For The Day’.

Tania Doko is passionate about their current single, saying “I feel strongly that ‘Speak’ is the first offering back for the band – personally, it’s a wake-up call and hopefully a 3 minute 30 reminder out there that we’re humans, not just hashtags.”

James Roche concurs, “Imagine our world if we develop a group agreement that speaking the truth and acting with integrity is normal.”

James and Tania’s shared love of performing and writing has brought them back together after a 12-year hiatus. “We’ve gotten back together for the same reason we formed a band in the first place”, says James Roche. “We just love making music together; and are so excited about the new songs. It feels better than ever.”

Tania Doko adds, “I can admit, I didn’t know how much I’d missed working with James until we performed at the Sydney Opera House Australia Day Concert, 2016 and it felt so good, we gotta do it again!”
