A stellar line-up of international superstars and home grown heroes is set to perform at the AO Live Stage over 15 days of music at Australian Open 2020.

Presented in association with Mushroom Events, this exciting roster of artists boasts 16 ARIA nominations between them, promising two stunning weeks of music for fans at the AO Live Stage at Middle Terrace.

Six major international acts plus 23 Australian artists are confirmed, with more to be announced in the coming months.

Example (UK), Billy Idol (UK), Bastille (UK), Max Frost (USA) and Broods (NZ) will bring eclectic international flair, offering fans everything from hip hop, dance, indie pop and electropop to classic hard rock, making the AO Live Stage a ‘must-do’ in 2020.

Bastille will make a triumphant return to the AO on the back of massive success with mega tunes such as ‘Pompeii’ and recent Marshmello collaboration ‘Happier’. With more than eight million album sales and global streams over the 6.5 billion mark, Bastille is one of the most streamed acts on the planet.

Idol’s place in rock & roll history is one of legend. ‘White Wedding’, ‘Dancing With Myself’, ‘Rebel Yell’, ‘Flesh For Fantasy’, ‘Eyes Without A Face’… with a huge list of global hit singles to his name including 8 x US Top 20 hits, rock icon Billy Idol needs little introduction to fans and will delight AO crowds.

Cub Sport, Matt Corby and Ziggy Alberts will entertain crowds with their smooth vocals and acoustic tunes while Hot Dub Time Machine, Hayden James and Example will appeal to the DJ and EDM scene.

Kate Miller-Heidke, Broods and Seeker Lover Keeper will appeal to pop aficionados, and Billy Idol, Eskimo Joe and Grinspoon will charm the most nostalgic music fan.

Award winning singer songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke traverses the worlds of indie-pop, folk and opera. She is the only artist in history to perform at the New York Metropolitan Opera, the Eurovision Song Contest and Coachella, and the AO Live Stage.

Australia’s favourite sister-act, The Veronicas, set to appear on Thursday 23 January, will be supported by up and coming artists Japanese Wallpaper and Kian; whose hit song ‘Waiting’ made its way quickly to the top of the Australian music charts this year.

“The AO Live Stage continues to go from strength to strength and the 2020 line up is the biggest and best ever,” Australian Open Tournament Director, Crag Tiley said.

“As well as being Australia’s biggest sporting event, the AO Live Stage has become one of the country’s biggest music festivals. This has helped us grow our event and introduce the Australian Open to new fans who now have even more spectacular entertainment choices, both on and off the court.”

CEO of Mushroom Events Michael Gudinski says “After the unprecedented success of the 2019 AO Live Stage and the amazing growth of the Australian Open, the music component at the AO has cemented itself as a must play summer concert date.

“Attractive to International artists plus the vast array of great Australian, established and up & coming talent, the diversity of the line-up over the two-week period means there is absolutely something for everyone. Our team at Mushroom Events continue to work alongside the Australian Open to produce an incredible varied line-up for tennis & music fans.”

The spectacular shade structure which was a hit at the AO Live Stage this year, will return for 2020, and along with the popular giant misting fans, will help fans keep their cool while getting their groove on.

Fans can access AO Live Stage with either an Australian Open Ground Pass ($49) or stadium ticket.
