10cc Set To Tour Australia in April/May 2018

5 min read

10cc have just announced they are returning to our shores to tour.  They continue to perform their hits to dedicated fans across the world and Australia remains one of their favourite places to play.  Their first show kicks off in Queensland on Thursday 26th April.

Purveyors of some of the greatest pop records of the 20th century, 10cc has sold more than 15 million albums in the UK and 30 million worldwide.  Noted for their studio polish, virtuoso musicianship, impeccable vocals and clever lyrics, their style was dubbed “art pop”.

10cc initially consisted of four accomplished musicians/writers/producers  – Graham GouldmanEric StewartKevin Godley and Lol Creme, who cared more for the sound of their records than the trappings of celebrity.  They dominated the airwaves in the 70’s with monster hit after hit.  From their breakthrough debut single “Donna” in ’72 to their final No 1 “Dreadlock Holiday” in ’78 via solid gold classics such as “I’m Not In Love” (a worldwide smash in ’75), “Rubber Bullets”, “The Wall Street Shuffle”, “I’m Mandy Fly Me”, “Life Is A Minestrone”, “The Things We Do For Love”, “The Dean And I”, “Art For Art’s Sake”, “Silly Love” and many more.

10cc combined progressive art-rock tendencies with an ear for melody to create songs of the ‘once heard, never forgotten’ variety.  While their singles burned up the charts, the band simultaneously embraced the artful and the esoteric on their albums, creating a truly ground-breaking and influential body of work.

Led by 10cc co-founder Graham Gouldman, the current live band, which has been together for more than 10 years, features Gouldman on vocals, bass and guitar; Rick Fenn (lead guitar, vocals); Mick Wilson (vocals, guitar, percussion); Paul Burgess (drums, percussion) and Keith Hayman (keyboards, guitar, vocals).  Rick and Paul have both toured with 10cc since the mid 70’s line-up.

These shows should not be missed.
