Much lauded Canadian singer-songwriter Terra Lightfoot has announced that she will return to Australia for an East Coast tour in April and May, including her own headline shows and a number of support slots for Letters to Lions.
Terra is excited to play live shows in Australia again, saying, “We came to Australia for the first time in the spring, and were welcomed with open arms. Each city we visited was more beautiful than the last—and I was properly initiated when I got stung by a Blue Bottle on the beach in Cronulla. I felt very at home in Australia, I loved all the musicians we met, and we made so many friends and can’t wait to see them all again! We are going to have so much fun.”
Terra has had a very busy few months jet-setting around the globe, promoting her brand of blues and folk-inspired rock. Last November, Australian audiences were lucky to see Terra and her band performing alongside William Crighton as part of his ‘Stand On The Side Of Love’ tour.
Terra’s current album New Mistakes (ABC Music) featuring the new single ‘Pinball King’ has been critically acclaimed around the world. New Mistakes was produced by Gus van Go and Werner F, and has some heavyweight friends along for the ride: Jake Clemons of the E Street Band brings a muscular sax solo to “Hold You,” while “Slick Back Kid” gets tangy slide guitar work from guest vocalist Oliver Wood of The Wood Brothers.
Terra has also been nominated for two Juno Awards in her home country of Canada for Adult Alternative Album of the Year and also Recording Engineer of the Year category. The Juno Awards will be held on March 25th, 2018.
Praise for Terra Lightfoot:
“With a stunning command of song-writing and musical composition, paired with an absolutely intoxicating voice and her signature Gibson SG, Terra Lightfoot delivers a powerful mix of folk, alt-country and flat-out rock… one of her home country’s best rock records of 2017.” – Tone Deaf (Australia)
“Canada’s Terra Lightfoot has a huge voice and a big and gutsy guitar tone to match. The powerful double-barreled musical attack makes her latest album simultaneously alluring and exciting. It’s packed with dynamics and moods, and it traverses styles from southern and classic rock to ambient to blues to echoes of Marc Bolan and T. Rex” – Guitar Player (USA)
“There are plenty of albums that do ‘eclectic,’ but none that do it as much or as well as this… New Mistakes really is a very exhilarating collection.” – Plunger (UK)
