Culture Club touched down on the Gold Coast yesterday as they prepare themselves to perform at Jupiters Theatre tonight – this is the first show as part of their Encore Tour. Culture Club have returned to Australia off the back of rave reviews and sell out concerts in June earlier this year. These December run of shows will see the band play in some capital cities and several winery performances. Australia adores Culture Club – both the mayhem and success of their earlier tour has cemented our love affair with the iconic 80’s pop band.
Tomorrow evening, at Australia’s biggest film and television Awards, the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA), Culture Club will perform one of their smash hits – this will be their one and only televised performance and will feature the original band line up: singer Boy George, guitarist and keyboardist Roy Hay, bassist Mikey Craig and drummer Jon Moss. The Grammy Award winning group will bring their own unique style to the AACTA Awards. Selling more than 150 million records worldwide, with multiple worldwide number one singles including Do You Really Want to Hurt Me and the BRIT Award-winning Karma Chameleon, Culture Club have continued to stay relevant and are as remarkable now as they were back then. The 6th AACTA Awards, presented by Foxtel, is Australia’s biggest film and television Awards and will be held at The Star Event Centre in Sydney and be televised on Channel 7 with an encore screening on Foxtel.
There is a stellar line up of Australian 80’s support acts for Culture Club’s Encore tour – it’s going to be a seriously HUGE show and you can expect it to be chock-a-block full of the smash hits we all know and love! Perth will see Pseudo Echo & Real Life and Barossa Valley will have 1927, Pseudo Echo & Real Life. In the Hunter Valley – 1927, Pseudo Echo, Kids in The Kitchen, Wa Wa Nee & Real Life. Melbourne will stage 1927, Pseudo Echo, Eurogliders, Wa Wa Nee & Real Life.
When you go to a Culture Club show, you can expect to have loads of fun and be fully immersed into a huge party atmosphere – then add to the mix this super 80’s line up, what more could you ask for? Grab your friends and be sure to get your tickets quickly so you don’t miss out!
