Due To Overwhelming Demand, KING KRULE Upgrades Sydney Venue & Adds Second Melbourne Show To March Tour

4 min read

Due to overwhelming demand, London’s KING KRULE, aka Archy Marshall, today announces he will play an upgraded venue in Sydney, moving from the Metro to Enmore Theatre onMonday 5th March, and adds a second and final Melbourne show. King Krule will take in back-to-back dates at The Croxton Bandroom on Thursday 8th March and Friday 9thMarch, after completely selling out the first show on the first day of on sale. New tickets for the Sydney and second Melbourne shows will go on sale tomorrow at 10am AEDT.

On his first Australian visit since 2014 he will also play a sold out show at Brisbane’s The Triffid on Tuesday 6th March, along with a performance at Golden Plains festival.

Released last October, the sophomore album from King Krule, The OOZ, has received praise from critics around the world, and was named as one of Monster Children’s Top 9 Albums of the Year (2017).
“the richest and most immersive album the London singer-songwriter has made yet… a masterpiece of jaundiced vision from one of the most compelling artists alive.” – Pitchfork

“He’s always been this uber-talented enigma of an artist, and this record just solidifies that…”
– Monster Children

“The OOZ creates a brutalist and beautiful terrain, one that we can wander vicariously through King Krule; it’s nothing short of a masterpiece.” – Drowned In Sound

A master of creating soundscapes that are equal parts dark and despairing, yet suffused with beauty and underscored by Marshall’s soaring vocals, audiences will lose themselves to King Krule’s live performances.

“King Krule and his live band shout and play triumphantly… (the) songs carried a refreshing confidence, which coaxed the audience into proud vulnerability and sensitivity…” – The Daily Californian

“Marshall lulled the sold-out show to a sensitive, transfixed sublimity. Other times he would rip into joyous reservations of expansive noise, both of which had the audience reeling…”
– Consequence of Sound
