Last night on Network Ten’s Grand Finale of The Masked Singer Australia, the adored ‘Dolly’ was revealed to be the bedazzling Em Rusciano after performing a jaw-dropping rendition of Florence + the Machine’s ‘You’ve Got The Love’.
As runner-up on season three of The Masked Singer Australia, Em couldn’t be more proud:
“Surprise! Yes, in what could possibly be the worst kept secret in reality TV singing competitions involving novelty sized costumes, I am Dolly on The Masked Singer! What a ride eh? Stepping onto the stage as Dolly for a month had a pretty deep and profound impact on me. Yes you read that right! I haven’t been able to perform live for nearly 2 years, (with the exception of that one show at the Sidney Myer Music bowl, which I’m started to think may have been a fever dream) so as soon as I held the mic to my mouth and the music started playing, I felt that familiar magic enter my blood again. It was so ace.”
‘Dolly’ has wowed audiences with performances including Bonnie Raitt’s ‘I Can’t Make You Love Me’, BENEE’s ‘Supalonely’, The Weather Girls ‘It’s Raining Men’, Adele’s ‘Make You Feel My Love’, TLC’s ‘No Scrubs’ and Tones and I’s ‘Fly Away’.
Congratulations to US popstar Anastacia as ‘Vampire’ on winning season three of The Masked Singer Australia and Axle Whitehead as ‘Mullet’ coming in third.
