In one of the most exciting ARIA announcements of the year, international superstar Halsey is confirmed to return to Sydney to perform at the 2019 ARIA Awards at Sydney’s The Star Event Centre on Wednesday, 27th November 2019, broadcast on the Nine Network, live streamed internationally on YouTube, and hosted by Guy Sebastian.
Dan Rosen, ARIA Chief Executive says, “We are thrilled to be able to welcome Halsey to this year’s ARIA Awards as a special guest performer. She is one of the most exciting acts in the world right now, a truly original and talented artist. We can’t wait to see her take the ARIA Awards stage!”
As one of the most recognisable and innovative pop stars of the past five years, Halsey continues to release hit after hit, including “11 Minutes” with Yungblud (featuring Travis Barker) and “Boy with Luv” with K-Pop superstars BTS. On April 14, Halsey and BTS broke the record for the most viewed music video debut in YouTube history. The video for their collaboration “Boy With Luv” amassed a staggering 74.6 million views in its first 24 hours and has held the record ever since.
Her smash hit “Without Me” peaked at number two and remains in the ARIA Singles Chart Top 100 after more than a year. It reached number one on the USA’s Billboard Hot 100 and was certified 3 x Platinum in the US, Platinum in the UK and 5 x Platinum in Australia.
She has been gearing up to reveal her third studio album, Manic, set for release on January 17th 2020. Its earlier single, “Nightmare”, released in May of this year, was accompanied by a stunning music video, which has almost reached 70 million views on YouTube. This was then followed up by “Graveyard”, the release of which Halsey celebrated by live streaming herself painting the Manic album artwork, and most recent track “Clementine”.
The official video for Graveyard was revealed last week, and has since amassed more than 5 million views. Watch the video here.
Throughout her career, Halsey has captivated the world with the rarified honesty and individualism in her music. Since 2015, she has amassed over 23 billion streams worldwide and sold more than nine million adjusted albums globally. She has played sold out dates on five continents (including New York City’s Madison Square Garden), been nominated for a GRAMMY and appeared on a wide variety of magazine covers, including Cosmopolitan, Rolling Stone, NYLON, Forbes, Playboy and Billboard.
Halsey’s debut studio album Badlands, which was certified Platinum, debuted at number 2 in the US and in the top 3 in Australia and saw her gain an opening slot for The Weeknd’s tour. Following this, Halsey featured on the song “The Feeling” by Justin Bieber for his album Purpose, and mega-hit “Closer” by The Chainsmokers (which she also co-wrote), both of which achieved major commercial success, with “Closer” still one of the most streamed songs on Spotify.
Halsey’s 2017 full-length Hopeless Fountain Kingdom was certified Platinum in the US and Gold in Australia, with single “Now or Never” hitting 3 x Platinum, “Bad at Love” 2 x Platinum, and “Without Me” peaking at #2 on the ARIA Singles Chart and reaching 6 x Platinum. The album also hit number one in the US and saw her embark on a 69-date world arena tour, headlining venues throughout Europe, the US, Australia and Asia.
