Kate Ceberano and Paul Grabowsky are taking their first duo recording on the road with the Tryst tour heading to Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide this coming August, September and November.
The Tryst tour is a very personal and intimate journey into words and music by two of Australia’s most respected musicians reinterpreting of some of the great love songs of our time. Kate and Paul deliver stripped back, soulful renditions of songs that have influenced both of them at some point in their lives.
Released by ABC/Universal Music Australia earlier this month, Tryst debuted in the Top 40 on the ARIA Physical Album Chart and Top 10 on the AIR Independent Albums Chart.
Their Love Songs Tour in 2016, which was the precursor to Tryst, garnered rave reviews:
“… they applied their exquisite interpretive talents to expose unexpected insights … their audience was in no hurry to let them go, demanding, and receiving, three encores” – Arts Review
“ … the audience was on its feet and pleading for more” – Herald Sun
The repertoire on the Tryst tour will be as diverse as love itself – from 60s pop with Cilla Black, to 80s Aussie rock with the Divinyls, with flirtations into jazz and chanson along the way – with the seed of this musical dalliance being planted over 20 years ago at a one-off St Valentine’s Day show at the legendary Melbourne venue ‘The Continental’.
