SOUNDTRACK TO THE TELEVISION SERIES CERTIFIED GOLD

The soundtrack to the forthcoming and heavily promoted Channel 7 mini-series based on the iconic music industry figure, Ian “Molly” Meldrum has already gone GOLD!

Aptly titled, Do Yourself A Favour. It’s packed with three CDs — two of which are filled with songs that hail from the series, and one with 20 absolutely unique and amazing pop gems picked by Molly himself.

The man himself is excited – and a little overwhelmed. After handing out countless gold records over the years, Molly is finally getting his own Gold plaque to hang on the wall.

“I’m blown away that the soundtrack has gone Gold, though I have to say that all the attention with the mini-series is a little embarrassing and overwhelming,” Molly says.

“For me, it’s always been all about the music, which is why I love this compilation. The songs on the soundtrack bring back so many memories for so many people. I’m also pleased that a new generation of music fans is discovering these great songs.”

Mushroom boss Michael Gudinski added “Molly has always had that amazing connection with music fans of all ages so we knew the soundtrack to the 7 Network mini-series would do well but to have it go Gold within weeks of its release just reinforces how instrumental he has been in promoting Artists from around the globe over such a long period of time..”

”Molly’ Soundtrack is the best thing since ‘Ripper ’76” – themusic.com.au

Cameron Adams of the Herald-Sun said simply. ‘Molly: Legend.’

So treat yourself to the classics you rarely hear on the airwaves anymore, boogie to the sounds of The Ferrets, Suzi Quatro, Chisel and Split Enz, and disc three’s iconic tracklist of mega-hits (think Culture Club, Wham!, Men At Work and Pet Shop Boys) is the perfect party playlist.
