THE SCREAMING JETS GET READY TO KICK SOME SERIOUS A*** WITH THEIR GO HARD OR GO CHROME TOUR
NEW SINGLE CASH IN YOUR TICKET AT RADIO AUGUST 29
There is no doubt The Screaming Jets are one of Australia’s hardest rockin’ bands – their concerts have ensured the former Novocastrians have an enduring presence on the Aussie rock scene. So it is no surprise that the band are stepping up to practice what they preach with their new tour – Go Hard or Go Chrome – an ode to their latest studio release, Chrome, and their hard and unapologetically rockin’ live shows.
The band’s latest studio album – their first in eight years – was released in May, and not only saw the five-piece touring through metro centres, but also found them landing in the ARIA Top 30 and celebrating with a special Music Max Live album launch. Keeping true to their reputation as one of Australia’s hardest working rock n’ roll bands, they are ready to take their new music – and all their biggest hits – to regional areas along the East Coast this October and November.
Coinciding with their regional run, The Screaming Jets are also releasing their next single – Cash In Your Ticket – the second from Chrome. The album’s first single, Automatic Cowboy, was the perfect introduction to their seventh studio long player – a strong, full on rock song pulling no punches and grabbing the listener by the proverbial balls. Cash In Your Ticket is the perfect complement, a moody, bluesy tune that showcases that not only are The Jets a versatile band musically, but they pen killer songs of every persuasion.
Chrome was the band’s first studio album in eight years and not only impressed long-term Jets fans, but also garnered them a new audience base. Reaching #2 on the Independent Music Charts, #10 on the ARIA Australian Artist Chart and #30 on the ARIA Mainstream Charts, they showed that the band only gets better with age. The long-player is kick-ass, heavy laden with riffs and gritty guitar solos, encompassing strong basslines and a tightness that can only come from years on the road. Above all else, it is true Aussie rock.
“We always try to make sure that we represent ourselves as classic Aussie rock,” says lead singer Dave Gleeson. “More than showing anybody else, but just to get in there and feel the excitement that we did in the studio. Sometimes things just feel right, sometimes you are in the studio and it is like pulling teeth. Other times you hang out with your mates, laugh and tell stories and record great music. We have come out with something we are totally proud of – something to hold up as the real deal.”
It is this classic rock ethos that has seen the band celebrate the longevity they have. Their 25th anniversary in 2014 certainly invigorated the band to head into the studio again and music lovers get to benefit from that rockin’ passion. Heading out on the road again for a regional run was a natural progression. Regional Australia is the band’s heartland and there is nothing better than sharing new music with the people who want to hear it the most. With killer new tracks and The Screaming Jets’ incredible back catalogue, audiences are certainly in for a treat with this run of shows.
“Me and the boys can’t wait to get out on the road and rock out the new single Cash In Your Ticket,” says lead singer Dave Gleeson. “We’re doing handful of shows to the fans on the East Coast and look forward to seeing you all in October and November. Go hard or go chrome. Rock on!”
The Screaming Jets’ new single Cash In Your Ticket hits radio on Monday 29th August 2016. Chrome is out now through independent label Dinner For Wolves (Rocket Distribution / InGrooves).
The Screaming Jets are Dave Gleeson [vocals], Paul Woseen [bass], Scott Kingman [guitars], Jimi Hocking [guitars] and Mickl Sayers [drums].
