AND UNVEIL NEW, GLOBAL SINGLE ‘FALL TOGETHER’

HOMECOMING TOUR SOLD OUT

ARIA Award winners and multi-platinum chart-toppers The Temper Trap today announced that their highly anticipated third album Thick As Thieves will be released internationally on June 10.  The long awaited news coincides with the release of new single ‘Fall Together’, available to download and stream now.

Set to become a festival classic, ‘Fall Together’ showcases the soaring vocals and anthemic layering that first saw the band launched to international stardom in 2009 off the back of the 2 million+ selling smash hit ‘Sweet Disposition’.

Listen to ‘Fall Together’ below:

The new album sees The Temper Trap collaborating with outside songwriters for the first time in their history, with striking results. Justin Parker (Lana Del Rey, Sia, Bat For Lashes) worked on ‘Fall Together’, whilst the album also features collaborations with Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Deerhunter) and Malay, co-writer & producer of Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange.  Australian and New Zealand audiences were given a tantalising first taste of the new album with title track ‘Thick As Thieves’ in high rotation at radio since dropping in late February.  The track saw the band working with Pascal Gabriel (Ladyhawke, Goldfrapp) to explore new musical ground whilst remaining true to their inimitable signature sound.

The Temper Trap said of the news:

“Finally it’s here! No one can accuse us of rushing things.  We’re definitely slow burners when it comes to writing albums so we’re beyond excited to share these new songs with you.  Dougy’s melodies are uplifting and the music has grit and attitude.  It’s an album filled with hope, raw energy and a passion that reminds us of our early days in the band.”

The Temper Trap have now sold more than one million albums worldwide, with their songs streamed more than 200 million times on Spotify and 20 million times on YouTube. They first came to prominence in 2009 with their critically acclaimed debut album Conditions, which, propelled by the global hits ‘Sweet Disposition’, ‘Fader’ and ‘Love Lost’, saw them crash land into the charts in their native Australia, their adopted homeland of the UK, and worldwide. The band’s self-titled second album, The Temper Trap, debuted at #1 on the ARIA Album chart and spawned the Platinum hit ‘Trembling Hands’ and Gold single ‘Need Your Love’.

Live, they caught the attention of Coldplay, Africa Express and the Rolling Stones, all of whom asked the band to join them on tour, whilst they also graced the stages of major festivals including Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and Coachella. In between they were nominated for and won a number of prestigious ARIA Awards in Australia, as well as receiving a nomination for Best International Group at the BRIT Awards.

With the confirmation of the album release date of June 10, sold out homecoming shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, plus a slew of international headline dates and Summer festivals, the return of The Temper Trap is no longer just a promise, but a reality.
