TINA ARENA Announces ‘Innocence to Understanding’ National Tour

10 min read

You wait a long time to find your dream and hold on to it
And all I needed was to fly
It’s a long way from innocence to understanding
A picture of a child at play, is how I feel today

Australian pop icon Tina Arena has today announced she’ll be going on the road to celebrate the release of her new Greatest Hits & Interpretations double album with the Innocence to Understanding Tour kicking off in Brisbane on Wednesday, 6 September.

Tina Arena has been part of the fabric of Australian music and pop culture for the past 40 years. Her voice has sent shivers up the spines of three generations of music lovers from her early days on Young Talent Time, to her hugely successful debut album Strong as Steel, her incredible international success and ten times platinum Don’t Ask (1994), the multi-platinum In Deep(1997), and followed up in 2001 with the critically acclaimed Just Me. Tina’s era defying career also includes two best-selling French-language albums, two much-loved volumes of Songs of Love & Loss, the 2013 release of the platinum-selling Reset (her first album of new English language material in over 12 years) and the gold-certified Eleven in 2015.

A 40-year recording career by any singer is an extraordinary milestone, andTina Arena is the only Australian artist to earn a gold or platinum certification for each of her original albums, in every decade since the 1970s right through to now. In fact, every album in her career has gone gold, platinum or multi-platinum.

Tina said, “Today I feel I have finally reached a place where I am 100% comfortable with who I am, and I am free to enjoy my life and my work. The past forty years have indeed been a journey from innocence to understanding, and I can’t wait to celebrate that with Australia.

Tina’s career boasts an incredible playbook of hits – I Need Your Body, Chains, Heaven Help My Heart, Sorrento Moon, Burn, Now I Can Dance, Symphony Of Life, Wasn’t It Good, Only Lonely, You Set Fire To My Life and I Want To Love You – and fans will get to hear these and more on the Innocence to Understanding Tour.

Tina is also releasing her first fragrance this year, called ‘Renaissance’ developed with Bertrand Duchaufour, one of the world’s leading perfumers in Paris. Bertrand has developed scents with Dior and Givenchy, and he and Tina have come up with a high quality Eau De Parfum combining ingredients sourced from Tina’s three cultures: France, Italy and Australia (including Sandalwood from Indigenous Australia).
