FINNISH HEAVY ROCK BAND LEGENDS, LORDI, PLUS LOCAL’S CAPTURE THE CROWN, POLARIS, AND ROCK SUPERGROUP HEARD OF COWS?

While negotiations continue with international headline acts for the fan-driven festival now scheduled for January 2017 to coincide with the Australia Day long weekend, Legion Music Fest has announced the addition of four more notable artists to the festival’s line-up.

From Finland, Lordi, formed in 1992, is the latest international artist to be added. They were the first and remain the only hard rock act to ever win Eurovision and are “super excited” to bring their over the top stage show to Australian fans.  Also now part of the growing festival line-up are metalcore bands, Capture the Crown & Polaris plus rock super-group formed in 2015 by members of Karnivool and Gyroscope, Heard of Cows?.

We are extremely excited to announce we will be playing the first ever Legion Fest 2017.  We look forward to tearing it up every show, having a blast with our friends and families, but also make some new ones along the way!” Jeff – Capture the Crown

“This is the beginning of a really positive change for heavy music in Australia.”  Daniel Furnari – Polaris

Spear-headed by John Sankey, drummer of LA-based heavy metal band Devil You Know, the Legion Music Fest team is continuing to grow and rally together a number of international and local acts, with a major headliner to be announced soon.

The world-first, fan-driven, crowd-funded festival, currently sits at $343,890 of its $3.27 million goal with 1,401 supporters and 49 days left of its Pozible campaign.  Fans are encouraged to pledge, which secures them a ticket to the festival.  The payment is not processed until the goal is reached and the event is guaranteed.

The aim is for Legion Music Fest to become the first in a long line of annual, fan-driven hard rock music festivals in Australia.
