After being forced to postpone her Australian tour dates earlier this year due to COVID-19 travel restrictions in Australia and New Zealand, Frontier Touring are excited to announce the newly rescheduled tour dates for Ladyhawke’s Time Flies Tour.
The multi-ARIA Award winning artist will return to Australia for the first time in five years with shows at The Triffid in Brisbane on Tuesday 8 November, Factory Theatre in Sydney on Wednesday 9 November, and the Corner Hotel in Melbourne on Sunday 13 November.
While in Australia Ladyhawke will also be playing at Summer Camp Festival in Sydney and Melbourne, as well as regional Victoria’s Chillout Festival in Daylesford.
We are happy to also announce today that joining the tour line-up are special guests Greatest Hits, who will open for Ladyhawke in Brisbane, Molly Millington in Sydney, and Queen P, supporting in Melbourne.
“It’s been five years since I‘ve been able to tour internationally – five years of pent-up energy that I am so excited to bring to the stage in Australia in November! Super stoked to have Queen P, Molly Millington and Greatest Hits join me on this fun run. A massive thank you to Frontier Touring for all their hard work and dedication in re-scheduling and pulling these shows together. And to the patient and dedicated fans who have been holding on to their tickets – I see you and cannot wait to sing with you in November.” – Ladyhawke
Tickets for the original performances will be valid for the rescheduled dates without taking further action. Patrons are encouraged to #keepyourtickets but if unable to attend a new show date may obtain a full refund. Refund requests must be submitted prior to Friday 27 May via the official ticketing agency
November 2022 rescheduled tour dates (increased capacities):
Tue 8 Nov – The Triffid, Brisbane QLD (prev. Fri 25 Feb)
Wed 9 Nov – Factory Theatre, Sydney NSW (prev. Tue 1 Mar & Wed 2 Mar)
Sun 13 Nov – Corner Hotel, Melbourne VIC (prev. Tue 8 Mar, Wed 9 Mar & Thu 10 Mar)
Ladyhawke will be touring in celebration of her latest album Time Flies [BMG], which was released in November 2021 and described as ‘her best album yet’ by Music OMH. Our first taste of Time Flies came in the form of singles ‘Mixed Emotions’, penned with Jono Sloan and Nick Littlemore (both of PNAU, Empire of the Sun), lead album single ‘Guilty Love’ featuring BROODS, which has amassed 1.39m+ streams, and latest single ‘My Love’, which was written in collaboration with Josh Fountain, one of Australia’s most in-demand music producers.
Joining Ladyhawke at Brisbane’s The Triffid on Tuesday 8 November will be Greatest Hits, a project of artist Ryan Cooper and a collective of his friends from around the globe. The group, whose debut single in the UK received BBC Radio 1 play, have toured extensively with the bands Hollow Coves, and Halfnoise (Zac Farro of Paramore). Greatest Hits sees Ryan step forward as writer-producer. The ‘Phil, Slow It Down’ and ‘Trying’ group blend 70’s groove, sunshine pop, and neo-psych, with lyrical sarcasm whilst tackling themes of failure, identity and growing up.
Opening for the Sydney legs of the Time Flies tour will be self-proclaimed ‘possessed pop’ singer Molly Millington. Compared with the likes of Olivia Rodrigo and Melanie Martinez the ‘Ring Master’ singer sprinkles her lyrics with sentimentality, coloured by vibrant soundscapes and edgy undertones. Molly’s newest single ‘October’ was released in October and has already amassed more than 92.7k+ streams to date, peaked at number #4 on the Shazam Discovery Chart, landed triple j spot rotation and featured in triple j’s New Music Hitlist playlist.
Helping to close out the tour is South Sudanese Australian rapper and poet Queen P (aka Piath Mathiang) who will be opening the Melbourne show on Sunday 13 November. Blurring the lines between hip hop, pop, RnB and electronic, P released her first mixtape Bring Black Back in 2018. Her darting flow and impenetrable rhymes elevated her from the underground to the forefront, supporting the likes of Masta Ace (USA), Billy Davis & The Good Lords, and Cool Out Sun, as well as landing festival slots at Strawberry Fields, Groovin The Moo, The Australian Open, St. Kilda Festival (Main Stage) and Bigsound. Queen P has gone on to receive a National Live Music Award nomination in 2019 and featured on the latest single from Holy Holy titled ‘Port Rd’, which heralded the #1 song in rotation on triple j and reached 1 million Spotify streams.
