ARIA Award winning axeman Bob Spencer, has torn up stages across the globe in bands Finch, Skyhooks, The Angels and currently Rose Tattoo, over a career spanning 40+ years. He has released seven chart-topping albums with these bands and yet his voice has never really been heard, until now.
Now, the official release of his hard rock debut solo album ‘Saints + Murderers’, will be officially released on October 26. These tracks have come from a lifetime of experiences, on the road and off, and take you on a surprising journey.
The soulful instrumental track of ‘Maroubra, 1973, September, 3PM and the pensive ‘The Road Goes On Forever’ show Bob’s musical depths and diversity. ‘Singles ‘Who Are These People’ ‘hard riffin’ heaven’ and the eclectic ‘I Can’t Do That, My Wife Will Kill Me’, have that familiar Spencer signature, being revered and, receiving airplay across the country.
“Nobody plays hard rock like Bob Spencer – great stuff.” – Trevor J Leeden Rhythms Magazine
All tracks on ‘Saints + Murderers’, were written by Bob Spencer with the exception of an old blues favourite and, ‘Who Are These People’’ co written with Laura Davidson.
“Recording this album has been a journey filled with joy, anxiety, confusion, depression, elation, despair and happiness. This has also presented me with the terrifying opportunity to sing in public!” – Bob Spencer
