Country Songwriting Legend MATT SCULLION Drops New Single, OUTTA MY OWN WAY

2 min read

A decade since his last album release, Matt Scullion is set to release his new LP at the 2018 Tamworth Country Music Festival with the first single, Outta My Own Way, released today via leading country indie record label, Social Family Records, also home to fan-favourite Amber Lawrence and up and coming Americana artist, Gretta Ziller.

Outta My Own Way is a tongue in cheek song about a guy who keeps tripping over himself and is just a little taste of things to come from Matt, who has spent over 15 years traveling back and forth between Nashville and Newcastle.  During that time, he penned 16 number 1 songs, and recorded with the likes of Ian Moss/Cold Chisel, Lee Kernaghan, Sara Storer, Brian Cadd, Adam Harvey, Travis Collins, Amber Lawrence, Drew McAlister, Rick Price, Richard Clapton, The Wolfe Brothers, Jayne Denham and many more.

Now back in Newcastle, Matt’s ready to put forward his own collection of new tracks on his forthcoming album, I’m Just A Song, out in January on CD and vinyl.  Outta My Own Way kicks off the album with grace and is available for radio airplay now with the video scheduled for release imminently.
